heard of any good Clipper trade rumors?

I really think we have a good shot of getting quite far this year and just need to fill in a few simple pieces. After all, we have a very solid starting 5 and just need a deeper bench

Kwame got hurt but actually for a 1 year deal, he wasn't too bad. A decent post defender who can grab quite a few rebounds and play a solid 20 mins a game

I think he would have actually helped us a lot

Any hear of any good rumors?

Just that they might move Mo

which isn’t surprising. Clippers have 2 trade assets which is Mo and Bledsoe (and some 2nd round picks).

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

Our bench offense will go from bad to pathetic if we lose the offensive punch we have in Mo

That said, Mo is good enough that he needs more than 20-25 mins a night, and we can’t give that to him. If we could trade Mo for 2 good bench players, that would be acceptable.

Now, who needs a PG and has 2 bench players that we actually want? I’d say a SG and a SF would be best.

Oh I just realized you might have not been referring to Wade & James

We could take James Jones and Mike Miller… saves us a little money too.

ideally its miller and Battier

Gives us offense off the bench and a defensive stopper. Id even start Miller and use the Caron off the bench as the main offensive player.

interesting idea about caron off the bench

but I think we need another guy who can create his own shot for now, at least until CP3/Blake get used to each other. But I would start battier and bring miller in off the bench. That way we get a defender in the stating lineup(neither billups nor miller is much of one). Or, we could bring billups off the bench, and start something like Paul/Battier/Butler/Griffin/Jordan… backups would be Billups/Bledsoe/Miller/Evans/cook?(whispered ominously)

I really do not know if

we can trust Bledsoe to run the second unit. He’s still too young, inexperienced and wild.

Ask yourself this:

Foye or Bledsoe? Deep within, find the answer, you will.

Mike Smith was on twitter pondering Sefolosha for Mo...

We need Bill Walton back: "Where would the LA Clippers franchise be without Sean Rooks? Bo Outlaw might be the best pick up of the off season.

Have them throw in Mohammed

and I’m sold

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 13, 2012 11:06 AM PST up reply actions

and the roster would be...

SG – Billups/Sefolosha
PG – CP3/Bledsoe
C – DJ/Mohammed
PF – BG/Evans
SF – Butler/Gomes

Clips still have the trade and cap exception. Also have the expiring contracts of Foye and Cook. I can live with this.

Because they lost Maynor?

and also they have Harden waiting in the wings

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 13, 2012 11:10 AM PST up reply actions

Maynor will be back next year

Williams’ contact would remain. Thunder GM(forget the name, presti?) is really, really good, and I doubt he would sell out for the short term like that. He has shown extreme patience.

by LJ Hann on Jan 13, 2012 11:19 AM PST up reply actions

Mohammed is an expiring

so long term its Mo for Sefo. Mo becomes an expiring contract in the off-season so they can trade him again at that point (Mo becomes more valuable then, like Kaman this past off-season).

I would love to get Thabo and Nazr. Would fill our two biggest holes.

But I don’t like that bench. Whose going to score for us?

How about Bledsoe/Foye for Thabo/Nazr?

Of course I'd do that in a second

But they wouldn’t be that dumb, would they?

Not into it

Even if they throw in Mohammad, we get rid of a 6th man whos the only dependable scorer off the bench for a guy that can defend but can’t shoot. 2nd unit would be Bled, Foye, Thabo, Gomes, Reggie, Mohammad. Nice defensive unit, but who do we count on to score in that group? Theyd HAVE to do another deal for a bench scorer.

Doesn't he have to see Mo?

Wouldn’t it be awkward?

Mo: Hey Mike, I started following you on twitter
Mike: Uhhhh…

You stagger the lineups

at the 6 minute point of the first half you take out Billups and Butler for Sefolosha and Gomes. Bring them back later when you have Bledsoe and Evans come in for Paul and BG.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 13, 2012 11:12 AM PST reply actions

Sounds good, i just worry about Bled

This trade would only work for me if Bled has improved his decision making/shooting confidence.
My guess is Olshey will wait till Bled comes back to see how he is before making a Mo trade

by cassellmania on Jan 13, 2012 11:16 AM PST up reply actions

In this scenario

Billups would run the point on offense and guard the 2s while Bledsoe would guard the 1s and play off the ball on offense.

Is Vinny smart enough to ensure we have offense on the floor?

He’s already found a way to put all 5 bench players in at once, multiple times…

Probably not

but at least he’s starting to realize the Clips only have 7 players worth playing.

The ultimate trade!

Howard for DJ, Mo, foye or Gomes Hornets 2nd pick and a future 1st rd pick.
Howard has to sign extension.

by ENCUEROMAN on Jan 13, 2012 11:20 AM PST reply actions

Not going to happen

Howard is worth way more than DJ. Mo has a so-so contract. And Clips don’t have a 1st round pick to trade for the time being (I think) because of the OKC/Bledsoe trade.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 13, 2012 11:23 AM PST up reply actions

I would do a sign and trade of Dwight Howard for Blake Griffin.

by wilriv21 on Jan 13, 2012 3:56 PM PST up reply actions

what do you all think of Jordan Hll

I think Jordan Hill would be a great fit for us. long/rebounds/to plays d to fill in backup C/PF and still young w some upside

i think we have enough stars, just need some more role players to fill in

by benoitcagewoodson on Jan 13, 2012 7:30 PM PST reply actions

Would be a nice pickup

not sure the Rockets are willing to trade him. I’d do Bledsoe for Hill though.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 13, 2012 11:23 PM PST up reply actions

Hill would be a nice big off the bench. He would certainly play ahead of Cook. I’d do the Bledsoe for Hill too.
