Rasheed Wallace anyone?

Looks like Rasheed is looking to come back in the league

He is long, plays solid d, can rebound and hit the open jumper so may be a good pick up?

Also, I think he and Billups are buds so may be a good fit.

I think he would be a great back up for Blake for 12 mins a game and play some back up center against smaller teams as well. His game never relied on athleticism so should still be able to perform well. He can probably work on nurturing Blake as Sheed is a champion and overcame great obstacles throughout his career.

Sheed wants to go to Chicago, but they arent interested.

Would be nice to have him for 10 min a game backing up DJ or Blake (i think he’s 6-10), but i would hope that he would focus more on his stellar post play than clanking 3s all day. His last game for Cs in the finals was starting in place of injured Perkins, and he showed some fancy footwork in the post early on. I bet he has one more run in him.

I think he could get more than 10mpg here

Cook plays 10.6, so he gets those off the bat
Blake is playing 37 a game, that can come down

We would have to see how he would fit in.

by LJ Hann on Jan 13, 2012 9:31 PM PST up reply actions

Depends on Sheed's conditioning

And speaking of Cookie, for most of his year with the Cs Rasheed did exactly the same thing Cookie does. Shoot tons of 3s and miss them. Like I said, I would be thrilled to have Sheed if he played more in the post where he has SO much talent, but he could be a disaster if we give him too many minutes living in the corner shooting 3s.

by cassellmania on Jan 13, 2012 9:39 PM PST up reply actions

1-3.7 longballs a game

is discouraging. But I still like Sheed to get 12-15 a game, as long as he is in shape. He played 23mpg for a celtics team that made the finals.

by LJ Hann on Jan 13, 2012 9:54 PM PST up reply actions

Even in his worst career year with the celtics

Sheed shot better than cook. And, sheed rebounds, bocks shots, defends in the post, scores in the post, all that good stuff that Cookie can’t do

by LJ Hann on Jan 13, 2012 10:30 PM PST up reply actions

This

while Sheed is kind of like Cook on offense his defense is much better. We’re talking about upgrading from Solomon Jones and Brian Cook here, this would be a no-brainer for the minimum as long as Sheed isn’t 300 pounds.

You think he's coming back to play for the minimum?

Don’t ask Celtics fans what they thought of him in his last year.

by John Raffo on Jan 14, 2012 8:02 AM PST up reply actions

Yes he's coming back for the minimum

the contenders don’t have any more space than that. He’s not coming back to play for the Sacramento Kings etc.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 14, 2012 12:55 PM PST up reply actions

I agree

I said the same in the fanshot I posted about this. The sooner they can bring him in the sooner he can start learning the offensive and defensive schemes.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 14, 2012 2:11 PM PST up reply actions

I wouldn't do that

for the minimum its a no brainer. The mini mid level should be kept for Kenyon Martin or JR Smith.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

by ClipperChuck on Jan 14, 2012 3:12 PM PST up reply actions

because we are going to bank on getting free agents later on?

This team needs support in the frontcourt now. Those players won’t come back until march. Do you really advocate adding a key rotation player or two in march? That’s basically 5-10 games and the playoffs. Especially with questionable character guys like JR and Kenyon…

Also, on a personal level, I will never support JR Smith, even if he is a Clipper. He is a terrible person and he would probably be locked up if he wasn’t a pro athlete. Kenyon I have nothing against, but i would rather have Sheed all year than Kenyon for 15 games.

by LJ Hann on Jan 14, 2012 3:39 PM PST up reply actions

Well Sheed isn't worth 2.5 million anymore

but JR Smith and possibly KMart are. I think the Clips stand a good chance to sign one of those before hand. And yes I advocate adding a rotation player or two even in March because A) its basketball not rocket science, they don’t need that many games to get acclimate B) Both guys have played with CP3 and/or Billups C) even those guys walking off the street are better than Foye, Gomes, Cook and whatever crap we are bringing off the bench these days sans Mo and Evans.

I think JR is a dumbass like a lot of people in their 20’s tend to be but I don’t think he’s an evil man. If CP3 and/or Billups (both former teammates) give their approval then the Clips should add him after all they would know him a lot better than us.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

RE: JR

I don’t mean his basketball actions. I mean his personal actions. He killed one of his best friends when he was drunk… he has countless DUI’s and points on his liscence. I will NEVER wish for him in a clipper uniform.

As for the other things, I think we just have institutional differences in how we would run a team. I prefer to not make any moves after the season starts, to provide continuity for my players and roster. I only support midseason trades when they are for next season. Like the Baron/Mo trade (IDK if I would have done it but I’m using it as an example) was for the future. The Clips knew that they weren’t in the playoffs, and they were making a trade for next year. Also, I don’t mind Foye/Gomes off of the bench. I think the problem is that we need a real SG/SF off the bench who, and then either Foye or Gomes. Not both. Cook is trash. That’s why I say go for Sheed.

Everyone's names?

VDN has a problem with that. Kurt Hinrich hahaha.

That's not a problem..

If DTS doesn’t know Foye’s name, I’m sure Sheed doesn’t.

I just realized this was all discussed in a previous fanshot...

I’m probably too late on this, but benoitcagewoodson really needs to chill on the posts.
There’s nothing wrong with taking something that’s been posted and renewing it, if you have something to add.
This is probably more correctly a fanshot rather than a fanpost, since it relies on the link. You’re welcome here, bcw, and we want you to post, but don’t step on fellow members posts.

I wouldn't mind having Sheed on the team...

he could be the obligatory “crazy guy coming off the bench” that every good team needs.

this is exactly the kind of guy we need off the bench

knows the game, is tough as hell, can block shots, doesn’t take shit, and can give us a few points with a go to move.

Good to know

we would have someone getting into other people’s faces for Griffin.
