Celtics' Big Three in jeopardy?
I bet that somehow, somewhere, the Clippers will be mentioned as a possible trading partner. LOL

If we got Garnett, we would then have a ball grabber and a ball puncher.
"Great Balls Of Fire, Reggie's Back!"
Of course
all 3 could fit into the Clippers rotation/starting lineup. The easiest one to trade for is Ray Allen since he makes the least and the Clips don’t have a lot of tradeable contracts left. Problem is the Celtics would just want young players back so all we have to offer is Bledsoe, 2nd round pick and maybe conditional 1st round picks?

We don't have any of those
well aside from Foye and Cook and they don’t make nearly enough to matchup with Garnett and Pierce. Cook, Foye and Bledsoe work according to the trade machine so that’s really the Clips only viable option. They wouldn’t be interested in Mo or Butler if they are going into rebuild mode. Clips wouldn’t trade DJ, Griffin or Paul for them. So that’s really the only trade the Clips could possibly make directly with the Celtics for one of the Big three. We can trade junk for junk though, like Foye for Jermaine O’Neal.

Right thats what I meant
Cook, Foye, bledsoe, more future picks etc, but they aren’t the best assets/money for a player of the big 3 caliber regardless of the fact that they’re aging.
I can see it being enough for Allen
primarily because there aren’t that many playoff/contending teams that have trade assets either or looking to add a SG.
Knicks would be but they don’t have the contracts to trade
Blazers don’t need him with Matthews, Crawford and Batum
76ers have expirings and could offer a young prospect or 1st round pick
Pacers could offer Granger for Allen.
Lakers have the trade exception and their 1st round pick. (this would feel weird though)
Mavericks have Jason Terry
Anyways I don’t see anything that completely blows the Foye, Cook and Bledsoe offer out of the water.

LAL can't get Allen.
His contract won’t fit into their TPE.
Jermaine O’Neal would be a solid pick up (I mean, in the sense he’s better than Cook/Jones).
Ray Allen would be a dream. We would have his Bird Rights and be able to keep him for next season. I hope Chauncey would accept a move to the bench in that case.

I believe the Lakers can give a player plus the TPE
so even Matt Barnes + TPE works. Not that it matters I can’t fathom a scenario where the Celtics would trade a future HoF to the Lakers.

I'm talking about the basic rules of the TPE.
You can’t combine it with anything else (cap space, a player, what have you). The player(s) contract has to fit into it.

You're right
I looked into it some more, I thought it could be player + tpe for a player. So yea Lakers are out of the running.
Main point survive, there isn’t much of a market for Ray Allen so Bledsoe plus crap might be enough if Celtics really do blow it up.

Allen for the last 3 teams
doesnt make sense for Pacers, Granger young/upcoming still
Lakers, you’re right they’re rivals!
Mavs JET imo is better than Allen at this point
Well
Pacers are rumored to be shopping Granger. The Pacers could make this move, let Allen expire and have enough cap space to chase Eric Gordon next year. They have a super young team full of rookie contracts right now. If anything this makes less sense for the Celtics as a Rondo-Granger duo is still a low seed playoff team stuck in mediocrity.
Lakers scenario see above
It’s a matter of preference between Jet and Allen. This would be a shake it up trade for the Mavs. Not sure what the Celtics get out of it unless the Mavs threw in some cash or a late pick.

I'd be happy with any of the Big Three, but...
What the team needs is a good veteran bench presence. Would any of them want to sign on as a reserve? And I’m a fan of Pierce, but I figure he’s going to retire a Celtic.
