Puff piece.
I like KA, and he definitely aims to be intellectual in his writing, but I don’t really get the point of this article. Blake arguing on calls? He does it a lot, and I notice a lot around here who don’t care for it, but honestly, what’s the problem?
It’s called The Tim Duncan Face for a reason so it’s not like Blake is unique in this category.
I haven’t really heard gripes about Blake’s shot selection; don’t we WANT him to take the 18 footer? Isn’t that what he needs to complete his game? There’s going to be more misses than makes in the immediate future, but that’s the cost of success.
Blake Griffin is the most amazing basketball player I have ever seen. Am I looking through rose-colored lenses? It’s impossible to deny.
But from his first play in the League, an alley-oop against Portland, this man has been an unstoppable force. He has the drive of Michael and Kobe and the talents, skills, and determination to get there. A Rookie Season on par or better than MJ, Duncan, and Shaq gives me carte blanche to say this.
I don’t think Blake will ever buy into his hype the way LeBron has (considering this guy was ensconced the second he hit puberty) or at least I hope he doesn’t.

This article is far from brilliant
it points out Griffin’s flaw of complaining, yet fails to acknowledge that the complaining is rooted in an inability by the refs to call clear fouls due to Griffin’s solid nature absorbing what would be otherwise hard fouls. As for the shot selection as GP said he is encouraged to take those shots as they help stretch the defense out. I think the increase in criticism is more of a reaction to the fact the clippers are now a threat. For years people loved the clippers like any lovable loser but now they are the best team in LA and a team that benefited by taking a small markets best player. It has become cool to hate the clippers, and that is fine because that just means they fear us.

eh ka writes an interesting point or two here...
but this is far from insightful, feels like a bunch of rhetoric. he’s such a good writer that it comes off as intelligent but it says very little.
Very interesting think piece
Thanks for posting. Gives me a new way to think about the Blake bashing that’s been coming not just from the outside, but from a lot of Citizens of the Nation.
Proudly enduring the pain since the days of Bill Walton's foot.
