Once Again, David Stern Abuses Authority Of Hornets' Ownership In Eric Gordon Saga - SBNation.com
Apparently Eric Gordon and Rob Pelinka are waiting to hear from David Stern regarding a possible extension for EJ in New Orleans. Nothing like negotiating your contract with the commissioner of the entire league - gulp. Clearly this is not what Stern should be doing, but at the same time I'm not sure I see the sinister implications Ziller does here. Extensions have to be signed by Wednesday, and in Gordon's case it won't happen. He'll become a restricted free agent, and that's OK for New Orleans as well. Oh, and apologies to citizen PV Mike who had this first in the FanShots - my bad.

Why be concerned about keeping a player...
…who can’t stay healthy for more than 5 minutes!
That will probably be the reason why he won't be extended

I really do not see any abuse of power. As a owner, I too would be
careful about extending a player’s contract when he hasn’t been healthy since acquiring him.

I agree with Steve and said as much in the original post below
Ziller should be more responsible

Steve, I am not like an ESPN Reporter trying to be first to a scoop
Never a big deal to me on credits for the first post.

I actually really like Ziller
I’ve been reading his stuff since the Fanhouse days and I was pumped when he became the editor SB Basketball page. But his fixation with Stern is bordering on pathological these days.

Ziller is quite negative about the Clips
plus he is one of those: “I’ll always take the controversial standpoint” guys, which is tiring.

I like Ziller too...
But the Gordon thing is… not nearly as compelling, strange, and divisive as the current situation with Minny and Kevin Love.
