Rob Pelinka
Okay, I don't really know what to make of this but have you noticed that the Clippers have put away all the players under contract who have been under Rob Pelinka?
First and foremost, most of us know that Pelinka is the agent for Kobe Bryant, the one who got Kobe those massive deals. Kobe is right now the highest paid player in the NBA. Pelinka represented Corey Maggette, Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman.
Right now in the wake that Gordon rejected an extension by the Hornets while he's injured and hasn't shown he could play for an extended period of time, most of us believe trading him was a smart move. I do find that the fact we moved both Kaman and Gordon, who had Pelinka as an agent is something to note. The team has talked a lot lately about high character guys and such, but now perhaps this agent game or behind the scenes game also takes shape.
If a player has a problem agent, move him. Pelinka wanted a higher deal for Gordon, and in some ways an agent demanding high value for his player is his job but couldn't that also ruin team chemistry if the player believes the team is not paying him what he's worth. Think Shawn Marion with the Suns and how he was eventually moved to the Heat.
What would you make of it?

Pelinka is a top 3 agent.
Pelinka will get more money for Gordon as a RFA. Guaranteed.
Wonder how much he was offered?
Some have wondered on the ease of resigning him here.
Not the max, which is what EJ wants.
We probably gave him something like 4/44 or 4/48 and he probably wanted 4/62.

Agents are the enemies of FANS
Well think about it. Agents who are good are bad for us fans. Sure it’s not our money, but having to watch a terrible team because some agent was able to force a front office to overpay a guy who doesn’t deserve it is detrimental to those of us who want to see our teams win.
Think Rashard Lewis on the Wizards right now. Sure he didn’t sign the contract with the Wizards initially, but just because it’s good for a player and good for an agent doesn’t mean it’s good for the fan. Well, either way it’s kind of a catharsis for me to be at peace with the removal of Gordon. I wrote a post a while back about how I liked Gordon, but now it’s easier to accept with this new information.
I think 12 million a year is what Gordon was worth.
The extent to which an agent is good
is equivalent to the extent in which the general manager awarding the contract is bad.
The best agents are the ones who best identify who the worst/most desperate general managers are.
I still can't believe Denver got Gallo for so cheap...

Gordon can get a shinier penny
if he isn’t injured this whole season. At the end of the day, you aren’t going to build around a player who can’t stay healthy a whole season. I think he still needs to earn his money, and if he is on the bench, that isn’t happening.
