Clippers fans vs all other NBA Teams fans.
So I noticed this recurring issue with a large amount of NBA fans today; they show no appreciation, rather, they show hate, towards every player who isn't on their respective team's roster. This is not directed at Clipper fans, because for the most part, I see respect and admiration from most of us towards other players on different teams. I attribute this to Ralph Lawler; he is quite possibly the best NBA fan out there, because he has praise for everyone, whether the team is losing to the Clippers or destroying them. I really noticed this hate with NBA youtube videos; spectacular plays, ranging from Griffin dunks to Rubio passes, are disliked and criticized. I suppose it is correct in that, "Haters gonna hate". Sadly, most other fans are haters, and they hate everything that isn't wearing their teams uniform. So what is the point of this? Well, I just wanted to show my respect and happiness of this great NBA Fan Base. So let's try to stay classy forever and maybe, just maybe, we can change a couple of people's minds while we are at it!

Well we're not all perfect, but the many years of losing really put us in no position to hate and criticized.
The same goes for other teams.
But they still run their mouth off.

sorry, i should of said bad joke alert.
my other option: “is it a committed relationship”? – wow, 2 bad jokes. i’m here all day folks.
when you guys go out on on a date
who pays and who puts out?
The hate that we're now getting is hilarious to me.
All it means is that people now have a reason to be envious or jealous of what we have going for us. Everyday, there’s something being said about how our guys are master floppers and youtube videos being made of every flop and “falsely accused” flop.
I see Laker fans call Chris Paul “CPGay” or consistently criticize and ridicule him, but they will turn around and make a post/thread about Stern screwing them over. They’ll continue to say that their trade would make the Hornets better, even though Odom is playing terrible and Scola is not having the best year either. The truth is that even with Gordon out, Aminu being a very raw work in progress and Kaman on the block, they’re going to get 2 lottery picks in a strong draft class. Aldridge fanboys have a personal vendetta against Blake due to Aldridge being snubbed from the All-Star game last year.
Every fan has players and teams that they don’t like. I certainly do, but I don’t purposefully go around to spread hate.

Agreed.
For some reason, NBA fans are afraid of power shifts. It seems that they want things to stay the same when they have had a winning team, but I merely can’t understand why they all of a sudden think they can win every game. Whether a team loses to someone like Miami or a team like Washington, there is always an excuse followed by hatred.

Most people that comment and argue there are 16 and under anyways.
when you hear the Clippers, it’s not going to be a joke anymore. I can guarantee you that -BG32
I'm talking about the people that run their mouth with nothing to back their claims.
Personally, I don’t post comments.

Woops, sorry LJ
Maybe I should’ve said immature unknowledgeable fans with a lot of time in their hands.

Comparison
Clippers beat the Lakers…
Clippers fan: “yay! good job! we played really good!”
Lakers fan: “scheduling loss….”
Lakers beat the Clippers…
Lakers fan: “YEA! THAT’S WHAT’S UP B*TCHES! WE ARE STILL BETTER! WE OWN LA!”
Clippers fan: “Good game, very exciting! Can’t wait for the next matchup in April! A rivalry is born, this will be great for LA!”
notice anything different?

Totally agree. A facebook friend posted the same thing when Lakers beat Clips last week. I wrote back “the season series is 1-1, no one owns LA yet”. His reply…“win a playoff series first then talk”
Laker “fans” are just plain ridiculous. Always talking about the past and not worrying more how their team sucks this year. And if he knew basketball, Clips did win a playoff series back in 2006.
He probably meant a ring.
That’s our fall-back.

It blows my mind how obnoxious laker fans are.
ANYONE can be a laker fan. Being a fan of a team is not an exclusive club, the idea that “my” team is better than yours is plain retarded. I’m guessing 90% of so called laker fans can’t even name all 15 players on “their” team.
Well then I guess you don't know 90% of Laker fans.

No we know the people that make up 90% of Laker fans and they are a-holes
While there are definitely a-hole clipper fans they tend to be a minority and are mostly recent converts.

Technically...
They do have the banners. They can talk as much shit as they want. Lets just hope for the best and shut em up on the court.
Jeremy Stearn- Keith Closs for Prez!
They need to live in the present.
If they want to reminisce that is fine, but their current team is not playing anywhere close to their 11 championship teams.

actually if you want to go back to MIN
then wouldn’t it be 17, since you would have to include the NBL 1948 ’ship?
get ur facts correct if you decide to step outside of LA
also…the 11 championship teams could also refer to the 11 championships teams from LA, not Lakers history…..as in the West Lakers, the Showtime Lakers, heck even the Bling Bling Lakers….Lakers are no where near what they were in their time in LA, where the franchise won 11 (then brought over the 5 MIN banners..where is that NBL banner anyways?). all of which making the Kobe-Pau laker ’ships starting to look more fluke-like than dynasty-like

Oh so every championship has to be the start of a dynasty? Pretty sure if you guys even got to the finals twice you’d be jumping for joy
Pretty sure if your team wasn't trash you would be jumping for joy.
Just like you did when you got ONE win. Sorry for sounding like a jerk, I’m still pumped because of the OKC win. Call us up when your team beats an elite team (you know, minus the whole Gallo missing a wide open layup)
You got me there.
Although in our defense, CP3 was coming off an injury and he was very un CP3 like.
I said what I meant.
If you are an “LA Lakers” fan, then you could have witnessed 11 championships being won here. If you are from LA and the Lakers were still in Minneapolis, you would not care about those championships that Mikan won in Minneapolis nor any other championship they may have won in the future.
How many championships do the Oklahoma City Thunder have? None. The Seattle Supersonics have 1 though.

OKC is a whole separate franchise than the Sonics tho I think
The Lakers carried the history from Minny to LA, and that’s why the NBA recognizes that we have 16 chips.
It’s like when the Browns left Cleveland. Baltimore got the Browns team but they changed their names and colors, so it was a whole new franchise for them.
With the Colts, they count the superbowl they won in 1970 when they were in Baltimore and the one in ‘06. They didn’t change the name or colors when they went from BMore to Indy.
The Lakers kept their name from Minny, while OKC started fresh with the Thunder.
The Thunder are actually trying to claim the Sonic history.
To my knowledge, there was a deadline in which the Sonics had a certain period of time to get a new team to reclaim their history (banners/memorabilia) or it would otherwise be lost to the Thunder. I believe the Thunder have replicas of the Championship banner along with Conference/Division banners. What I have read recently is that they plan to let any future Seattle teams “share” the history. SMH
“I think I made that clear, I didn’t play in Oklahoma, so it wouldn’t be anything that I’m looking forward to because I didn’t play for the Oklahoma Thunder,” he said at the Seahawks game on Sunday, where he raised the 12th Man flag. “I don’t think that Oklahoma should get the benefits of seeing me raise my number. I think these people here (in Seattle) are the people who have seen me and made me who I am.”
- Gary Payton
I’m aware that there have been teams that have left the history completely behind. That’s not what my point was about.
Why are you a Los Angeles Laker fan? (Are you from Los Angeles or nearby city?)
Were you a fan of the Minneapolis Lakers (if you were old enough to see them play)?
If they never came to Los Angeles and stayed in Minnapolis, would you be a fan of the Minneapolis Lakers?
There are Laker fans that don’t really put too much of an emphasis on the Minneapolis rings, because they weren’t Minneapolis Laker fans. They are Los Angeles Laker fans. Martin, Pollard, Mikan, Mikkelsen, etc. don’t have their jerseys hanging next to Magic, Worthy, Kareem and company. They have an honorary banner just like they have an honorary banner for all 5 of their championships. Bynum is wearing Pollard’s number, so even though they were honored, they weren’t exactly retired like the others. It took the Lakers 30 some odd years to “honor” the Minneapolis Laker players. The reason is because they didn’t played in Los Angeles. Baylor had a couple of seasons in Minny, but never won a ring in either location.
It’s easy to say that you are a fan of the franchise. I’m not saying the Lakers don’t have 16 championships. I’m saying that every Los Angeles Laker fan from Los Angeles that wants to use the banner/ring argument would not care about those 5 Minneapolis championships had they not moved here.
There are differences in Franchise records/history and Team records/history. The Clippers may not have had much to hang their hat on over the years, but there are Los Angeles Clipper records that have been established 28 years ago. Clipper history that includes the San Diego days and franchise history that encompasses Buffalo as well. McAdoo is a hall of famer and Randy Smith (RIP) is the franchise leader Games Played, Points Scored and other categories. They are both in the Buffalo Hall-of-Fame, but are not hanging up at Staples because they never played in Los Angeles.

The internet brings out the worst in people...
in fact, any form of social interaction not where you’re not actually face-to-face with another person brings out the worst. Whether it’s sports talk radio (especially in Los Angeles, where’s its Laker jock-riding 24/7) or message boards, people can spout out nonsense on the ’net or the phone without having the balls to speaking it out in person.
Laker fans, especially the oboxious ones, are in a class by themselves. And, over my time as a Clipper fan, I think there’s two types of Clipper fans—the ones who want to win NOW and are tired of the rebuilding (like myself) and ones who want to stay under the radar and get so stuck in wanting stack the team with nothing but draft picks.
I think people should
not be so quick to generalize. :/ I’ve seen a lot of asshole Clippers fans in the last month and a half, and I’ve seen a lot of the opposite as well. When you make posts where all you do is insult other teams and fanbases, you don’t come off as the latter. Don’t assume every one who likes the Lakers is as unintelligent as the random people you’ve apparently run into. It sucks you ran into them, but I’ve heard Clips fans call Blake Griffin the best PF in the game, the best team in the league, and a lot of other stuff, and I won’t hold it against all of you.
