Kendrick Perkins, Our Hero | Ball Don't Lie - Yahoo! Sports
Read 'Kendrick Perkins, Our Hero' from our blog Ball Don't Lie on Yahoo! Sports. The idea of this obvious Chicago Bulls fan crediting that team with more or less inventing the idea of "taking a charge," I'm sure, won't sit well with others. Players and teams had taken charges by the boatload for years … Continue reading →

Awesome game
If the Clips can go 3-1 in this stretch against tough teams, I’ll be amazed. If they go 4-0, I’ll have a party for Clips Nation or something
Reading that LA Times article kinda bothered me
I felt like he was saying “Well, the Clippers are fun but they’ll never win a thing.”
Ok, well… they just beat the Thunder in a handy fashion and beat the top teams in this league including the Heat and Lakers. They lead the Pacific Division and are number 3(?) in the Western Conference. I don’t know why it’s so hard to understand that the Clippers are actually good this year.
T.J. Simers is absolutely horrible.
Don’t give him any attention. Also, don’t make the mistakes I’ve made and look at comments on his articles. Equally maddening.

They need to state that its a Simers article if they link to him.
I don’t want to give that garbage any hits.
I Like THIS Chris Paul
much better than the one earlier in the season. Paul needs to be aggressive (not Derrick Rose aggressive) and not defer too much. Paul is a very smart, talented player who knows when to turn it on and should turn it on.
This will help open up the game for his teammates and give the Clips the best chances of success. While Mad Dog Griffen may be the face of the franchise, Chris Paul is its heart.
Ohyeah
Paul really controls the atmosphere. He’s smart, he’s fast, consistent, and talented. I really like Paul’s shot clock management skills and also how well he can control the basketball.

I agree
His shot clock management is superb. It seems obvious but we’ve never seen it here like this.
I really think I underestimated how good he really is. That spell in the 4th where he hit 8 points on the trot was basically closing the game down. He is just in control.
I also loved him breaking Westbrooks ankles off the dribble more than once!
Bingo! Oh me oh my!

CP in the early part of season
Was clearly out of shape, still adjusting to new team etc. Had he not gone down with that hammy injury we’d probably have the best record in the west right now, and in the past two games he’s showed what he can do for this team when healthy.

#4 in SI Power rankings.
I guess we are for real.
Leave Vinny
He’s learning still and showing signs of improvement.

I don't want a coach
, whom should be teaching our young core, learning as well.
I understand that every coach has something to learn, but Vinny seems to be in a whole new playing field. Some games he makes decent rotations and others most of us question.
Then again, I’ve always been anti-Vinny so this could be my downfall to accepting him as our coach. : )

He's 12-6
Not to defend the guy, but come on

12-6 doesn't mean he's a good coach
maybe the Clips should be 14-4 (or conversely 10-8) with a different coach. The record isn’t the end all be all of evaluating a coach.

no but it should be an important factor
the players also have been more or less supportive of him and he seems to improve along the way.
He seems to deffer a lot of the play calling to Paul and Billups which I like.
All in all he is doing fine. Why risk messing with that? He still needs to grow quite a bit, but I’m not convinced that coaching is such a big part of success in the NBA when you have enough talent.

Something to note
Perkin’s reaction was spot on. Class sportsmanship and even better comments. Too bad Perkin’s have been on the other end of a few other dunks also (see Wade on Perkins last year.)
"Things change when something is taken away from you" -BG32
Yup
Got to also hand it to Perkins for stepping in and trying to stop Blake’s dunk, most people would have simply stepped to the side. Too bad all he’ll hear is how he got destroyed by Blake… because he made the right play.
that is what makes the dunk so impressive
this is a legit NBA starter giving his best trying to stop the play. And he was obliterated.
