Why am I not surprised.

The Lakers always want to add to their roster, but it seems like they don’t get the point. Their PF position is not what is holding them back, it is their PG position. Until they realize that, they won’t be a strong team. Even if they do get K-Mart, the only real significance that that holds is they didn’t let the Clippers get him. Also, do they even have the cap space to sign him?

We can offer more

Makes no sense for him to go to LAL. We have better record, younger core, more exciting, former team mates in Chauncey and Reggie. . .c’mon dude.

by cassellmania on Jan 31, 2012 11:34 PM PST up reply actions

Let's be honest though.

Would you be surprised if he landed on the Lakers?

by SurfinQ00 on Jan 31, 2012 11:46 PM PST up reply actions

Yes

We can give him more money, just as many minutes off the bench, and one of the best passers in the game.

by cassellmania on Jan 31, 2012 11:52 PM PST up reply actions

My point is it is the Lakers.

I’m never surprised whenever they get the players they want. Malone, Payton, and Gasol ring a bell? And nearly Chris Paul?

by SurfinQ00 on Feb 1, 2012 12:00 AM PST up reply actions

Yeah, that's the old Lakers.

If I were KMart I’d go to the Heat or Clippers (probably in that order if I were to put personal bias aside). The Lakers and Spurs tie for third.

by shay on Feb 1, 2012 12:13 AM PST up reply actions

yes old Lakers...

but the Lakers are still a good team now, they aren’t like SacTown or Wizard status yet, and Kobe keeps playing out of his mind with a funky wrist…

if Kenyon thing so highly of himself that he will be the difference maker on the team (think Rasheed to Detroit = Championship)…he may go with the Lakers….

that does depend on how high he thinks of himself as a “get the team over the hump” type of player

well....you never know what could have happened in the lockerooms with Reggie

Kenyon might be scared

It makes no sense with their current roster but what if they make other moves?

If they are looking to shift Pau to get someone else alongside Kobe then sure it makes sense for them to go after Kenyon on a cheap deal. He’s not the Kenyon of old but he’ll do a job still.

Bingo! Oh me oh my!

yes but that is up in the air

and PF is the one position they are deep enough.

Yes, they are deep in the PF position.

I have said this in the past, Pau’s value is too high for any average PG but too low for an elite PG. They will have trouble parting with him if it isn’t another player of his caliber.

Dammit Kenyon

If Blake’s dunk isn’t enough to entice you to join our squad, go get lost. =P

by Rob Lo on Jan 31, 2012 11:20 PM PST reply actions

Also what I don't get.

Which Contender to join?
Lakers? No way.
Spurs? Not likely
Hawks? Possibly, but in the east, that’s pretty tough to contend with Miami and the Bulls
Knicks? Ha Ha. If there is a “pretender” in the League, it is them
Clippers? Possibly, they are the most likely to contend in this whole list aside from Miami.
Heat? Definitely.

by SurfinQ00 on Jan 31, 2012 11:21 PM PST reply actions

Well

None of the teams have their final rosters set, all could make some significant personnel changes in the next month.

If he wants the most PT he’ll get it with the Knicks
Most money would be the Clips and Knicks
If he’s chasing a ring then the Heat make the most sense

I guess the Grizzlies aren’t being considered because they are a small market?

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

I think most of the rosters are pretty much set.

The only big move left is Dwight, and aside from the Lakers (which is now in jeopardy) I don’t see him adding/subtracting from their roster. The thing is, I do believe we have the most to offer him, but that doesn’t mean the other offers aren’t pretty enticing. Personally, I think he would go to waste on most of those teams and I REALLY REALLY hope he signs with the Clippers.

by SurfinQ00 on Feb 1, 2012 12:02 AM PST up reply actions

i still think the Clippers will make a move

whether it be a trade or a signing…where a major splash or just a minor adjustment…i think something still happens

I think it's between is and the Heat

if money doesn’t matter he goes to the Heat cause they are favored to win it all. To be honest, they could move Bosh to C and play Kenyon at PF and he could even start there so that’s my guess. Hopefully that extra bit of money and Chauncey can make him come to the Clips though.

by chrisd on Feb 1, 2012 12:34 AM PST reply actions

I wouldn't mind if Smith then followed ;)

Not to mention, there would be a better chance that they all resign with the Clips seeing as we would seriously dominate the league ! :) haha

Some of you guys have probably already seen it

Just wanted to share a very good mix with K Martin from youtube

This is from twitter

Sean Deveney: Agent Bill Duffy also said that Joel Przybilla will choose between the #Heat and #Bulls by week’s end.

Hmmm, hopefully Pryzbilla chooses the Heat and we get Kenyon. I wonder why this weekend is “decision” time for these bigs.

by chrisd on Feb 1, 2012 12:31 PM PST reply actions

Honestly don't think the Heat will become any better than they already are.

Unless they decided a Wade/Dwight or LeBron/Dwight trade was the key to a championship

and this

K-Mart lives and is working out in Los Angeles.

by thewhiteshadow on Feb 1, 2012 2:02 PM PST reply actions

I am confused

The article reads like he is here living and working out in LA, plus visiting with NBA Teams. Contractually,he cannot play in the NBA until after Feb 16th which is when the season ends in China for non playoff teams. Is he currrently still playing in China or back here in the states?

by PV Mike on Feb 1, 2012 2:42 PM PST reply actions

he left his Chinese team in December,

but because of the contract he signed, he can’t play anywhere else until the Chinese Basketball Association season ends for his team. If they don’t make the playoffs then he can sign to play in the NBA Feb. 16th or something like that. If his Chinese team makes the playoffs, which as of right now they aren’t in, then it would be when the team is eliminated (as is the case for possibly JR Smith’s team which is expected to make the playoffs).

by chrisd on Feb 1, 2012 3:44 PM PST up reply actions

"as is the case for possibly JR Smith’s team which is expected to make the playoffs"

Until then JR and his sis are going to take it to Chinese opposition.

Thanks but why?

Was he not performing? Did the team send him home?
