Bench Willie Green!

I don't understand what this nonsense is about protecting the second unit by having Willie Green start (until Chauncey Billups returns). The depth chart is plenty deep to keep Willie Green on the bench regardless of not having Billups available.

Doesn't something like the below make sense? What am I missing here?

PG: Chris Paul (36 min) / Eric Bledsoe (12 min)

SG: Grant Hill (15 min) / Jamal Crawford (25 min) / Eric Bledsoe (8 min)

SF: Caron Butler (28 min) / Matt Barnes (15 min) / Grant Hill (5 min)

PF: Blake Griffin (36 min) / Lamar Odom (10 min) / Matt Barnes (2 min)

C: DeAndre Jordan (30 min) / Lamar Odom (18 min)

This is a solid 9-man rotation...10 when Chauncey comes back. The only possible benefit of having Willie Green is to play the exact same minutes as VDN plans on playing Chauncey so that all other rotations are unaffected. But that's crazy talk! Our bench are all veterans who should be able to adjust shifting minutes throughout a normal season.

You'll notice that Grant Hill, Matt Barnes and Lamar Odom can all serve as multi-purpose reserves. Also, the notion of having all 5 starters out of the game just seems unnecessary.

Seeing Willie Green makes me crazy! I know it's preseason...but still, he's awful - that's not going to magically change between now and end of October! Btw, I'm playing NBA2K13 right now and finally forced my way through trades to get onto the Clippers squad where I've taken over the starting SG gig. I've since made it known to the Clippers GM that I'm not happy with Willie Green and want him out of here! If the video game VDN and Clippers GM both know to bench Willie Green, then surely the real versions should too, right? RIGHT!?! Make it happen VDN!
