I don’t hate the Lakers. I like their organization and how they’ve made a commitment to excellence and to winning championships. What I’ve grown to really dislike, however, is the attitude of their fans. More specifically, the haters, of the bunch. The haters are the ones who will have a strong negative reaction to the following statement: L.A. has the best record in the league and is riding a 15 game winning streak. The other L.A. team doesn’t even have 15 wins and is under currently under .500 despite having a relatively soft, home-heavy early schedule. Why? Because they know that the "other" L.A. team referred to is not the red and royal-blue wearing residents of the Staples Center. Haters feel entitled--will go on and on about how the league wronged the Lakers because of the Chris Paul trade veto, but will not bat an eyelash when pointing talking about the trade that landed Pau Gasol to the Lakers for a bunch of bench players. Haters will announce that Kevin Love and LeBron James will fall all over themselves to join the Lakers after their current contracts expire. Haters will sneer at the current Clipper win streak and say that the Clips haven't beaten anyone good during that streak but ignore the fact that out of their own 14 wins, the only winning (read: above .500) teams they've beaten are the Pacers, the Warriors, the Rockets, and the Knicks. So if I get enjoyment in pointing out that the Lakers lost to the headcases in Sacramento. Or that the Lakers barely held on for a 1 point win against the Bobcats, please understand that I am not directing it at the Lakers and all Laker fans. Just the haters. Just the haters. LOL.
