Gustavo Ayon is impressive

He’s a no-name for sure, but he has outplayed Kaman and has relegated Kaman to be expendable.

Re: Sam Donnellon: Sixers still look as if they need a go-to guy

This is precisely why I just can’t fathom how a team built entirely from high Win Producers like Kevin Love and Mike Miller and Josh Childress could succeed in the playoffs. I can see how they’d have a great record, but with no go-to guy, there just wouldn’t be any offense in crunch time. All of those guys are efficient scorers, all of those guys don’t commit turnovers, and all of those guys get enough rebounds that they really limit opponent possessions. But in any close games, none of those guys is going to be able to create offense when it’s needed. Can you just rely on rebounding and scoring efficiently on very few shots in a game decided by 1 to 3 baskets?

Part of it is that it goes so strongly against all conventional basketball wisdom, and we haven’t seen a team like this before. Dallas (Dirk) and Detroit (Chauncey), for example, both had go-to guys that were a head above everyone else on the team and could basically get their shot whenever they needed to at the end. And we’ve all seen first hand how when the Clippers stay close in a game, CP3 just won’t let them lose. (Except the Cleveland game.)

Hmm

Kevin Love got some offense against us in crunch time as I recall.

Playoffs vs Regular Season

And Love is probably the best shot creator out of those examples. Maybe Ben Wallace is a better example.

Let's just say
