Where in the world is Al Thornton?! And can he take the spot of the guy he just dunked on?

Good question
not sure where AT is. He’s good enough to warm a bench somewhere in the NBA.

I also checked his twitter
and he said he’s rehabbing.
No way he comes back here though.

i watched him play for the warriors quite a bit on tv last year .
i think having been cut etc might have humbled him, given on the warriors he was scrappy, passed a lot more, and was much more looking like he was a role player and was ok with it.
i guess the whole “fighting to actaully stay in the nba” thing changed his attitude. just to have a backup SF i think he would be a good veterans minimum signing. i’d rather have him than gomes anyway.
Agreed
He could be a bit of a ball movement stopper but when you are playing on the 2nd unit, that is less of a problem. Scoring is a problem on the 2nd unit and Al could score a bit, mostly in ISO drive, fallback jumpers but a score is a score.
Gomes is unfortunately bringing nothing to this ball club. However classy a guy he is and however good a game he talks, he isn’t helping this team and so really needs to be gone in some way.
Reggie Evans, Kenyon Martin, Al Thornton, Randy Foye, Mo Williams would be a nice bench and quite easily do-able if we can get Kenyon.
Bingo! Oh me oh my!
Fixed

Fixed even more.
Reggie Evans, Kenyon Martin, Mo Williams, JR Smith would be a nice bench and quite easily do-able if we can get Kenyon. If VDN keeps up the good work with rotations, he can throw in a starter onto that team (I think it would be Billups or Caron).
One step at a time
but yes JR Smith is on my hit list too.

Not really
Any injury to a starter and you’ve lost Mo or Kenyon to the starting lineup leaving only 1 scorer on the bench again – that is too much pressure. Foye is fine if he’s not being asked to score loads – he takes too many low percentage shots in my opinion but, if you had other bench players who would be asked to score, he can still do a job.
I think Thornton would be an upgrade over Gomes but I doubt the organisation will go back that way again.

On nearly ANY team will leave the bench weak.
Yes....................
which is why to try to build a decent bench, something we don’t have. My point is that if you only have 2 people who can score on the bench (and we only have Williams and Foye – to a much lesser extent), if one of our bigs goes down injured, we have nothing to put on the floor, changing the whole dynamic of the team.
If a guard goes down, we can put Mo in but that leaves Foye as our only scorer off the bench. We need to have 3 people off the bench who have some semblence of putting the ball into the basket.
We’ve constantly ignored Ike Diogu, who can score and I must assume that is because we will make a run at Kenyon. I’m not sure about JR Smith but hey, he can flat out score. We need someone else if we are making a run at this whole thing.
Bingo! Oh me oh my!
I liked Thornton back in 09...
But he’s seriously not what the team needs. People complained a ton about his chucking back then. I think most of us are just blinded by how bad Gomes is playing. There’s got to be better options.
