Alright, yes I know this is Clippernation and not SSR, but I am just tired of hearing about CP3 on the Lakers= BEST TEAM IN THE NBA. I don't know how accurate this is, but I just wanted to know if my ideas at least make sense.
CP3 is obviously does not play his best during the start, not because he can't, but because he chooses not to. He starts game off with more passing and finishes with shooting. If the Lakers were able to pull off that CP3 trade, their options would be extremely limited. Bynum's game doesn't require a great PG. You dish it to him, and he backs down until he is close enough to the rim to get the points. Judging by the roster, they would probably start McRoberts. Yet again, his game would probably benefit most from CP3 because he can finish off some lobs, but he isn't a great offensive threat. Metta? Well here is the thing, you can give him a wide open shot and there is a GREAT chance he would just barely hit rim. Kobe would be a little bit freed up, and yes, he would benefit too, but he would still end up taking the same shots that he takes today. True, they would be less contested, but when Kobe is feeling it, he would make them with anyone on him, if he wasn't feeling it, well there is a good chance he would miss anyways. CP3's most vital aspect to the Clippers is the fact that he can close of games, and at this point, I would say he is THE BEST closer in the game. This is why I feel his value is so much higher on the Clippers rather than the Lakers. With Kobe being... well Kobe, he would still finish games and take the shots, so would CP3's beautiful finishes really even be utilized? I don't think so. Frankly, I think that the Lakers would have had a slight improvement with CP3, but in my honest opinion, for a Laker fan to claim that they would easily win the title with CP3... well, that's just absurd.
