Former Clipper Coach and GMMDSr part of group to buy Hornets
Looks like Dunleavy is up to something after all these years... He must want a second crack at EJ.

Man that settlement with DTS must have paid more then we thought

Interesting
I wonder if this means MDSr will be GM/Coach again or just settle down in the front office role.

good, finally
for a long time the biggest travesty in an alread relatively corrupted league was the fact that the nba owned a franchise.. the paul veto was a sham not because of the lakers getting screwed or any range like that, but because it was fine for the league to veto a trade because the owned a team.. just a gigantic conflict of interest.
ill be happy once this sale is done, good luck to mdsr. always thought he did a quality job as our gm despite the korolev flop.
Hard to believe that franchise is worth 340 million.
And hard to believe that particular ownership group would be willing to leave the team in NO.
I hope MD Sr becomes and owner and wins a title.
While MD was majorly bashed on this blog in the past, he never really got much credit for helping turn the Clipper culture around by convincing free agents to sign and DTS to pay them, building the training facility, and by facilitating the firing of the other EB (Elgin Baylor). He also helped tank the team toward the end of the season prior to the Griffin draft. Of course, without the team’s playoff run in 2006 under his command, this blog would probably not even exist now.
Cheers to MD Sr if he can swing this deal.
This.

I actually liked Dunleavy.
He got a lot of crap for the hard times the team had, but he did do a lot to change the franchise.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that a group led by a California businessman could pay up to $340 million for the franchise, while agreeing to keep it in New Orleans for the foreseeable future.
For the “foreseeable future?” whatever that means.
Looking like Anaheim may get their NBA team yet one way or the other as I don’t think the Kings to Anaheim is out of the question at this point.
I think Seattle or Kansas City will get a team before Anaheim

Seattle I Can Understand
for a number of reasons, but Kansas City?
Kansas City couldn’t financially support an NBA team, study finds
I hope Seattle gets it.

O.T. but damn!!
“Derrick Rose and Adidas agree to a 14 year $260 deal”
Reggie Evans is a guy who tells the truth.
That's it, $260? That's less than 20 dollars a year!
Seriously though, that surprises me. As good a player Rose is, he doesn’t seem to have the wide appeal outside of basketball that kobe or lebron do.
Not necessarily
he’s only 23 right now. He could still be playing at 37 as a backup PG somewhere.
