Clippers set sights on signing J.R. Smith
Smith can return to the NBA after his team in China finishes its season. The Clippers hope he can bring scoring punch as backup small forward, says a person with knowledge of the situation.

Man. . .that would be something

You gotta think CP, Billups, and KMart will heavily recruit their former team mate JR to sign with Clips.

And why wouldn’t he? For the chance to play for a mediocre Knicks team? With a bench of Mo, Foye, JR, Kenyon and Reggie (with Mo, JR, Kenyon getting heavy minutes in the playoffs) the Clippers can win it all this year.

Money is elsewhere

I really like him, but I have a feeling he will go to a place with more money.

Another mini-mid-level?

Where’d that come from?

What is actual cap figure for this team now that Martin is in the fold?

I calculated the numbers from hoopshype and came up ~$67.06M

From my understanding, DJ’s salary doesn’t count against the cap, they’d be around ~$57M, is that correct? They’d only have the minimum left to sign Smith, if that’s the case, not a mini-mid-level.

Why would DJ's salary not count

it counts. We only have the vet min to sign him with.

Denver Nuggets of Los Angeles

Billups, KMart, JR Smith, Evans. We just gotta go sign Mutombo to have a complete five.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

when you hear the Clippers, it’s not going to be a joke anymore. I can guarantee you that -BG32

Ralph, "Last year so often with Blake Griffin you would see these things coming, with Paul, he's so crafty, all of a sudden boom there it is."
