Do shoe's play a Part? Bad day for Adidas Yesterday.
I noticed yesterday after the tragic injury to our beloved Chauncey that the shoes may play a part.
And the conclusion is Adidas.
Mr. Big Shot
Gallinari
DRose
All injured during play yesterday and yes DRose did not have a foot injury it was a Back Spasm and sometimes Shoes play a part but he has been battling foot issues all season.
From what I have seen is that many of Adidas Athlete's in Basket Ball have Chronic injury's.
I do not follow other sports so I can not comment so I put this out there, how many others in all sports that use Adidas can be named?

It's about Bball shoes in General that have less support
I’m a Nike guy myself, but Basketball shoes have changed dramatically over the last 5-6 yrs. Shoes are now ultra light (as light as running shoes) and many low-midtops. Something has to give, and that’s support. I’ve not done any real research, but I think Ankle-type injuries are on the rise due to these newer ultra-lightweight shoes.
Air Jordan Ones are big Clunkers today compared to Kobe V’s (which ironically are lowtops).

Most of those players are on different teams than their uniforms show….

The Baron Davis Line has deep discounts

Yeah
Puente Hills mall had them for about $20 then $10 I think since Baron Davis was traded to Los Angeles. I never bought myself a pair, but the material didn’t look too bad. They seem to serve as pretty good outdoor shoes for rocky pavements.

Adidas vs Nike
Nike/Jordan has had it going good for them for a long time. they are clearly the superior brand…
but especially with DRose…Adidas has been picking up. I personally never noticed a big difference between the two. Adidas were usually cheaper, but i associated that with Nike being such a more popular name.
I played a lot of ball (usually on the blacktop) in Converse (the first DWades to be specific) and I loved them….Converse is a brand of Nike/Jordan by the way.
But after that I started playing more in the gym and I stated wearing Addias ProModels…these shoes had a lot fo support and were still versatile. I thought I found my shoe, but then this Clips Nation night came around and we couldnt wear shoes with black bottoms…my relatively new ProModels had black bottoms….if i wanted to play, i needed new shoes again…
So i got some Nike Hyperizers, blue bottoms, apparently that was acceptable. i saw them on sale so I went for it. WOW…the difference between these and my ProModels. I still feel the support, but they are SO much lighter. The ProModels were a light shoe, but the was bottom heavy because of the thick sole. the Nikes felt more balanced.
so yea…Nike FTW

Just bought some pro models
I’ve had an eye on them years. Was looking forward to playing in them.
Also the Blake’s in the awesome metallic blue and hyper line green

I think the difference between Nike/Adidas is negligible
I’m a Nike guy (basketball/distance running), but I think you’d be hard pressed to find something definitive that proved it was his shoes that caused his injury. I would think at that level ($100+ MSRP) the design and technology going into the shoes are pretty much comparable.
From experience, last time I played basketball in a pair of Adidas were the T-Mac 1s. Probably some of the best shoes I ever had. Haven’t used any Adidas since, but I can’t imagine their design going backwards since those came out. In fact, some of the ones out there now — like the AdiZero Derrick Rose that Billups was wearing — look pretty darn good to me.
OK, lets see,

Injured (feet/legs) Nike athletes
DJ Augustin
Gerald Henderson
Rip Hamilton
Tristan Thompson
Timofey Mozgov
Charlie Villanueva
George Hill
Zach Randolph
Malcolm Lee
Should I go on?
Steph Curry rolls his ankle damn near every game and he wears Nike
I think the perfect brand is Reebok or And-1. They might not be as flashy as the Nikes or Adidas, but they are effective.

I don't really know
sometimes, injuries are injuries. Nike, Adidas, whatever.
The only shoes that I have noticed being much worse are Fila’s. I’ve rolled my ankle a couple of times in Nike, but in Fila? It’s terrible.
I've sprained my ankles
with high tops before..
It wasn’t pretty. :(
