I was just telling my wife about Derrick Rose's injury and how bad I feel for the guy and how unfortunate it actually is for the league and the NBA Playoffs. How D-Rose is such a good kid and the playoff matchups are "less than" now because a Miami vs. Chicago series would have been so amazing, Rose vs. Lebron etc. and all that. And she said "If the Clippers won it all then would it be considered tainted". And I said good question but no because there are so many other good teams and specifically Miami from the East.

And then I made the analogy if MJ went down like this then the Championship would be tainted and that's what lead to my headline. I think it's a bit of a combination (parity and MJ's dominance), but more a reflection of how valuable and dominant MJ was. If it was the Lakers team of Shaq and Kobe and one of them went down I would similarly say the Championship was tainted but that's two guys.
