As we all continue to roster-bate, another angle that the Clippers will probably look towards is the amnesty
victims. The team got Chauncey for cheap, and it seems that if the Clippers are going to be tight on money, the amnesty market would be the perfect place to shop. Only teams with cap space get to bid, which makes this a pretty nice market (teams from small markets are less likely to bid).
(I would also note that if the Clippers are to really shop in this market, they need to amnesty R.Gomes in order to free up some cap space to enable competitive bidding. I could be wrong on my calculations, but I have the team pegged at have $1.5 million in cap right now if the cap moves up to $60 million; we're committed as of now to ~$58.5 million. Another $4 million would be nice for some bidding)
From what I've read online, here are some possible candidates that might get amnestied:
Marvin Williams (Peachtree Hoops actually had a front page post about this too)
Mike MIller
Andre Blatche
Anyone else you think might become available? Thoughts in general?
