The Infamous Donald Sterling
For those of us that have been fans of the Clippers for years it should really come as no suprise the way this situation was handled. I for one would always try to find the positive’s in the squad even if that sometimes was hard to do whether it was in 2008 when all we had was Al Thorton's occasional highlight dunks or Kaman's one all star appearance. There’s no need to mention the rest we all know about the bad draft moves, bad coaches, and so on.(at least when they promote the Clippers now they market the Clippers and not the other nba teams<for those of you that don't know the L A times always had the Clipper adds saying stuff like come see your favorite teams/players at the Sports arena)
This though was just too much when you consider that this is the best team the Clippers have ever assembled(Ralph Lawler would say it in so many words throught the season). Neil Olshey was the first GM we could honestly as fans feel like hey this guy has a plan were in good hands regardless of the fact that he still worked for DTS,apparently it was to much for Olshey to handle I mean who on earth would hire VDN over Dwane Casey just because he's cheaper oh wait..DTS. Anyone that knows anything about basketball can see that VDN is not a good coach(Olshey even said the players do whatever they want with Vinny <that's not coaching). Olshey on the other hand started from scratch and made us a contender so even though he left on a sour note I thank him for at least putting our team in a good situation to win now.
As for now I just assume Gary Sacks takes over and works with Vinny as the GM's (which is the worst possible scenario). I wouldn't expect anything else from DTS. As a long time Clipper fan I'll just enjoy the next season since It's not everyday a Clipper fan can say we have the best Point Guard(CP3 of course) the most exciting player(Blake)oh yeah and the most if not one of the most controversial and horrible owners the league has ever seen. I guess we can't have everything.
