Griffin Out 8 Weeks From Meniscus Tear in Left Knee
From LA Times. Blake Griffin will miss the 2012 Olympics, but will be 100% and ready to play for the beginning of the NBA season. He will also be available for training camp in October. UPDATE: Here is the Clippers' press release. UPDATE 2: Hat tip to ganima, who pointed out that a recent study in the American Journal of Sports Medicine concluded that most NBA players after suffering meniscus tears returned to their previous playing levels. UPDATE 3: Ramona Shelburne has heard from a Clippers source that "he dodged a bullet. It's not a new injury. It's not an ACL. Should be a 4-6 week recovery". Sam Amick has also heard from sources that the Meniscus tear is "small" and that there is very little - if any - concern from the Clippers and Griffin camps regarding the injury.
