Three headed monster appreciation post

Well since no one else decided to do it, I wanted to say that I think that they did an outstanding job. They improve the roster over the one that lost in the second round of the playoffs. The bench scoring and defense are better than they were last year believe it or not. More surprising they did all this upgrading within the space of last season's salary ($69 mil '11-'12 compared to $66 mil this year). A vast majority of the fan base was ready to take a header off their nearest tall structure after FOlshey left, but these guys in their first off season have done a better job than he has. Of course we have the advantage of Chris Paul making the important phone calls.

Something else I wanted to point out about the roster. Has anyone noticed how we are trying to mimic the Heat? No I do not mean position by position or by points per game. I am strictly looking at roles and in some instances we are better. The Heat top two scores last season were Wade and James (Paul and Blake). Bosh (Odom) was a stretch big. Haslem and Anthony (DJ and Hollins) are hustle bigs who were asked to defend and rebound. Battier (Hill) was the all purpose defender. Chalmers (Billups; though he is way better) was asked to occasionally run the offense and nail the three. Where I think the difference will lie is that EBled and Crawford are unlike anyone they had and Morrison can fill either the James Jones/Mike Miller role. Imitation is the best form of flattery, and it looks like we are trying to imitate the best.
