Hello ClipsNation, I am pretty new here and I am not familiar with posting articles or opinions online so pardon me if I am lacking in anything in the post.
If Ray-Ray somehow lands the team, what does he bring the Clippers? All I ever see is "I'll take Allen over Crawford anyday" or some other things like that, I just want to know why Ray is a better fit than the available guards for the Clippers.
I know he is a great 3-point specialist, besting all other guards with the Clippers career-wise Billups (.389), Crawford (.348), Foye (.366), and Williams (.387). But what else can he give? He doesn't give us assists, his career APG is (3.6) compared to Billups (5.5), Crawford (3.9), or even Mo or Foye (5.8 and 4.2 respectively), neither does he doesn't get to the line or attack the basket. I found something when researching about the guards, Allen played 1565 minutes last season only beat Billups (607 minutes played) in free throw attemps by 11 (Allen 106 to Billups 95), Crawford on the other hand played 1613 minutes and nearly doubles Allens FTAs (206) and converted on 92.7% of his FTs. I believe we need guards who can attack the basket to dish out to our frontcourt, get to the line, and shoot a three to open up the paint, and Allen could only give us one of them in three point shooting (obviously). I understand Ray makes his FTs (89.4 career average), but what else does he bring? I apologize if I am blind to how great is compared to the other current or former Clipper guards, but I am willing to be educated. If I am missing anything, or am completely wrong in my information, please inform me and correct me.
