I am thinking this is a back-up for Bledsoe/Billups injury bugs. According to ProBasketballTalk.com:
Wayns is a 6’2" rookie guard out of Villanova who got in 21 games for the Sixers earlier this season, but shot just 26.4 percent and didn’t stick.
