Wow. This is a lot to take in at once. Adding Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Doc Rivers... wow. Just imagine how different the Clippers would be next season with three more Hall of Famers.
The question is how? There's a few different ways this could go down. First, the Clippers could just do one massive trade(or two smaller trades)- something like Butler, Bledsoe, and Jordan for Pierce and Garnett could work. The Clippers would likely have to add picks to this trade as well.
My preferred method would be the following: trade Jordan, Bledsoe (maybe), and the Clippers' 2014 first rounder for Garnett. The Celtics also agree to let Doc Rivers walk (he already has an agreement with the Clippers in this scenario) and to waive Paul Pierce's partially guaranteed contract. Then the Clippers could pick up Pierce with their Mid-Level exception.
The second option leaves the Clippers with Caron Butler and their #25 pick, who can be flipped in a S&T for a SG to start alongside Paul, Pierce, Griffin, and Garnett. Maybe Andre Iguodala, if he wants to come aboard.
There's so many possibilities and players and rumors that it's hard to know exactly what will happen. Maybe some name we haven't heard yet will come out of left field and be the newest Clipper. Nevertheless, it's an exciting time to be a Clippers fan and watch it all unfold.
