I really haven't studied the guys coming out in this year's draft. But I was wondering what you guys thought about these prospects. Our priority is probably a wing. SG/SF. Someone that can shoot and defend. But we could use a big man and even a back up PG if Bledsoe is traded.
Ray McCallum Jr.
I really liked this guy at Detriot. A point with some size, athletic, high basketball I.Q. He just has an inconsistent shot. If we drafted a point he is the guy I would want.
Shooter, rebounds for a 2 guard, long arms. Not a great athlete, below average defender, weak ball handler, questionable attitude.
I added him because he kind of reminds me of a bigger Bledsoe. High potential, very athletic, can pass and defend. Just a poor ball handler, no left, and not a good shooter.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
I heard this name being mentioned. I think he would be good as a 2nd round pick. Not really worth a first. He has a perimeter shot, but not a good defender. Inconsistent.
I really don't know much about him. I heard he can shoot. He's a good passer. I heard he's a weak rebounder for his position. May lack that killer instinct. Really skinny.
Very athletic, shot blocker, rebounder, high upside. But he has a low BB I.Q. and is offensively raw.
Good jumps hooter especially on the catch and shoot. Can defend. Unselfish. Poor ball handler. Not so good on shooting off the dribble. Lacks lateral quickness.
I saw him play at NC State. He's good, but he does look like a tweener at the NBA stage. Decent post game, quick first step, athletic, but lacks ball handling and a consistent jump shot.
Some people have him projected into the 2nd round so he maybe available at 25. He kind of reminds me of Aaron Gray. Athletic. Good hands. Can finish. Smart defender, doesn't foul a lot. He's just limited offensively, lacks strength, not a strong offensive rebounder and lacks lateral quickness.
What are you thoughts on these guys and who do you think we should draft?
