According to a source close to the coach, Rivers plans to fly to Los Angeles today, and will finally sign his contract tomorrow in the presence of Clippers owner Donald Sterling. The agreement is said to be a three-year deal woth $21 million - the same amount and time remaining on his Celtics contract before the deal. Talks have dragged on in recent days, not because of any disagreement between the Clippers and Celtics, who will receive what is expected to be a 2015 first round draft pick, but because Rivers wanted to make sure his agreement with Sterling was air tight.
