Report: Chris Paul Told Clippers He'd Sign With Rockets After Rivers Talks Broke Down

I guess Simmons really DOES have it in for Doc/the Clippers. First of all, I don't blame CP3 for using his leverage. If LAC was really going to let Doc get away for a useless First Rounder, I woulda done the same thing.

Having said that, Simmons is a moron. At least make the story believable; HOU didn't have the cap space for Chris and Dwight. Why not say he told the team he was going to DAL? At least then it's believable.

Can it be October 29th already??

Chris Paul informed the Los Angeles Clippers that he was planning on signing with the Houston Rockets to join James Harden and Dwight Howard when the deal for Doc Rivers fell apart, according to a report from ESPN's Bill Simmons.

The Clippers ended negotiations with the Boston Celtics over the compensation they would send in exchange for Rivers.

The Clippers eventually reinitiated talks and send a future first round pick to the Celtics.

Paul subsequently agreed to a $107 million new contract with the Clippers.
