Paul and Griffin make team USA squad.

I didn't see if this was posted in its own thread so I thought I would start the conversation. Stein is reporting the list of 28 names that will comprise the world cup and summer olympic teams and both Paul and Griffin made the list. This group will have some much needed size in comparison to previous teams as they have ten big bodies who naturally play the four/five. Also, true to his word, the Mamba did not join the 2016 team. This opened up a spot for some of the younger guns like Lillard, Curry and Thompson to make the list. Also on the roster is human 3 point machine Kyle Korver. I say it would really piss teams off to have to watch him and Curry go off on them (assuming he makes the final roster).

One name that did not make it on the list is DJ. I wish he could have made the team as the work with team USA has done him wonders. Plus the chance to continue to work on his defense in this system (Thibs is one of the assistants) as well as ply his trade alongside the likes of Tyson Chandler and Dwight Howard would have made our blossoming big man even better. Anything that can help DJ improve his craft would be welcome. Though Doc has gone a long way to improving things. Just see Steve's post.

Well at least one of our big men will gain valuable experience (two if Mullens plays for England) playing in international ball. Part of Blake's improve jump shot can be attributed with working with Carmelo Anthony the last time he got to work with team USA. That same year we got to see a short you tube video of Melo teaching Blake two of his favorite tricks and it paid dividends later that year when he got to apply what he learn. I have missed plenty of games this year and not scene if he still uses that fade away on the high post or the step back jumper. Unfortunately, injuries cut that experience short. Hopefully, he gets a chance to build on his new experience both on the offensive and defensive end and take another step into becoming the great PF we all think he will be.

Of the 28 names, the one that makes me wonder is DeMarcus Cousins. DMC's attitude and the sportsmanship of international ball seems like a bad combination. You would think that the great coaches and veteran players will be able to reel in the erstwhile big man. Only time will tell.

Well I for one look forward again to the chance of having two Clippers on team USA and hope that Blake comes out of the experience all the better.
