And his name is Josh McRoberts.
He averages 8.5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game in 30 minutes of play. Sure, he's not perfect nor is he the most efficient player out there, but an athletic 6'10 PF that can handle the ball, pass well, and is a threat from the three point line appears to be a fit for the Clippers.
Not to mention that he's an unrestricted free agent this year coming off a 2.7 million dollar salary. He could be a solid pick up for the 3-3.5 million dollar range, and he gets to play for a legitimate contender. With that, we would still have the ability to pay for a nice backup PG.
Decent wing players are going for high prices, so I doubt we could buy one using our MLE. But solving 2/3 of our main problems with one signing could be huge.
Imagine if we were able to lock up McBob for 3 mill, spend another 2.3 on a backup PG, and sign Pierce for the BAE. The only thing missing is a starting SF (Dudley + Bullock + Pick #28 anyone?), but even without such our team would be better.
Who says no??
