Wages of Wins takes on the task of quantifying the most overrated players in the league. I'm bringing it to you because a Clipper shows up.

What's the best thing to do when you have an overrated anything? Sell high, of course.

The Clippers are another team that really needs a point guard. Sam Cassell is gone and there is no telling whether Shaun Livingston will ever recover. However, the Clippers might need a power forward sooner than you think as well.

But right now, all signs are pointing to Rose as the Clippers' choice if they land the No. 1 pick.

I'm not sure where these 'rumblings' are coming from. I still say no way Elton is anything other than a Clipper next season.

Of course, the bad news here is that, even if the Clippers get pretty lucky in the lottery and wind up with the second pick, the odds now appear to indicate that Rose will be gone and they'll miss out on their dream point guard. Beasley seems like a pretty good consolation prize of course.

The Clippers' fortunes are recounted and foretold on the WoW blog today. Its actually quite straightforward stuff as described all season long. He has additional concerns about depth, specifically sort of getting at least non-negative production from the 6-8 men.

Here's the strange thing about the brief article: Stan Love, Kevin's dad, says "He's going to work out for the teams that are going to be a good fit for him. He's not going to work out for teams that don't need a power forward or center." But he mentions the Clippers as a team that has shown interest. It doesn't really fit.

OK, FanShots are supposed to be brief but that's not really my thing. In the trivia department, I just figured out that I went to high school with Kevin Love's cousin - the daughter of 'Beach Boy' Mike Love. We were lab partners in Physics class, but it was more about chemistry, if you catch my drift.

Read the article. There's not much there, really. The Rockets could offer no more than the MLE, and I don't really see much in the way of a S&T unless they're willing to give up Battier, which, they're not. Which means that the Rockets are interested in Maggette the same way I'm interested in Shannon Elizabeth. Sure, I'm interested, but there's not much I can do about it.

In a vote with all the suspense of the elections in Russia, Kevin Durant was named the NBA's Rookie of the Year. Al Thornton of the Clippers finished fourth in the voting, getting 1 second place vote and 27 third place votes.

It's hard to argue with Thornton's final placement. Durant and Horford and Scola all played very well, and Horford and Scola are still in the playoffs. Furthermore, given that Durant was picked second and Horford third and Scola wasn't even in this draft, it just solidifies Thornton's status as the steal of the draft.
