"The craziness that is the Clippers' coaching search: the attraction to Brian Shaw, at least in part, is inspired by the rivalry with the Lakers, a source says. Anticipating that Phil Jackson is going to re-surface in some capacity with the Lakers sooner rather than later and that he'd look to install Shaw as the head coach, some in the Clippers' organization love the idea of having Shaw unavailable to their Staples Center co-inhabitant. It sounds like a crazy, flimsy premise upon which to base such a significant decision, and no doubt that wouldn't be the only basis upon which Shaw would be hired, but that it could be part of the equation reveals two things: the Clippers are looking to put a rent in the purple-and-gold cape any way they can; and forecasting what the Clippers will do (and why) remains as precarious an endeavor as ever."
Clippers have yet to speak with George Karl, but he is still considered a strong candidateRamona Shelburne
The headline on ESPN is typical... something TMZ would do to pull people into reading a much ado about nothing article. Interesting for die hard clipper fans though....
Not sure if already posted but Jimmy Kimmel did a mean tweets segment, NBA edition last night. Funny stuff. Take it for what it is, Blake and CP3 were sitting together.
Jun 09, 2013 12:12 PM EDT The Houston Rockets plan on pursuing Dwight Howard, but they will simultaneously go after Chris Paul as well. "They are targets No. 1 and 1A," said a source. Both Howard and Paul are free agents, but the former has expressed more interest in signing with the Rockets. The Rockets need to complete a few moves to offer a max contract, something they feel is likely. Houston won't have enough cap space to offer a max contract to both players. Charles discussing a variety of topics on DP Show including his usual disparaging remarks about Clippers and Blake. Says the Clips new coach is inheriting a headache, Vinny should not have been fired, Blake only a dunker with funny commercials etc.
@WojYahooNBA: Denver has parted ways with coach George Karl, league source tells Yahoo! Sports.
Anybody else taken a look at Rudy Gobert? Obviously SUPER raw, but I'd imagine that after more seasoning overseas and a chance to understudy w/ DJ he could end up being a difference-maker. Weird thinking about DeAndre mentoring anybody about anything outside of humor, but in this case I think it'd actually work.
