Recap: Houston vs. San Antonio

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Luther Head scored 21 points, and seven Houston players scored in double-figures, as the Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 103-84, at the Toyota Center.
Ron Artest added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Rockets, who have won four of five. Shane Battier poured in 15 points, while Yao Ming and Rafer Alston each had 12. Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks both posted 11 points in the victory.
Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner both scored 17 points for the Spurs, who had won four straight games. Tony Parker added 15 points and seven assists, while Manu Ginobili had 11 points in the loss.
Up 11-10, the Rockets used a 9-2 burst behind Alston's five points to take an eight-point lead. Alston and Artest each scored seven points for Houston in the quarter to help the hosts to a 33-20 edge heading into the second.
Houston went up by as many as 19 points in the second frame, but San Antonio charged back with an 18-6 run to close out the half. Bonner had seven points during the burst, and the Spurs trailed by only seven at halftime.
San Antonio got to within two on a Mason layup early in the third, but Houston closed on a 12-4 run to take a 84-70 lead into the fourth quarter.
Head started the fourth with a three-point play off a steal, and the Spurs never got to within 14 for the rest of the game.
Despite the loss, San Antonio has still won seven of nine contests...The season series is tied, 1-1...Houston guard Tracy McGrady (knee) and Brent Barry (calf) both missed Saturday's game and will miss Sunday's game against the Nuggets.
