Celtics 104 - Clippers 76

The parallel universe Clippers team, with Livingston at the point, Cassell at shooting guard, Brand at power forward and Kaman at center, would have made this a game, even with Paul Davis (or maybe Richie Frahm or Ruben Patterson or Yaroslav Korolev) at the small forward.

The guys they actually put on the court never had a chance.

By the way, that's consecutive games against the best record in the Western Conference followed by the best record in the NBA for a group that might or might not be able to challenge Memphis.  The Memphis Tigers, that is.

I found it somewhat untoward in the fourth quarter when the Celtics reserves were in the game, and the starters were whooping and hollering on the sideline.  What was that about?  Yes, well done.  You're beating the Clippers JV squad.  Wave a towel, by all means.

Boston does play great defense.  Clippers shot 40% from the field and 18% from the arc.  And that free throw defense!  They held the Clippers to a season low 56% from the line.  Seems to me that the Clippers might not have been ready for this game for some reason.

I'm not sure why I even watched this one.  I enjoyed listening to Shaun Livingston in the second quarter.  That's about it.

That season ticket conference call tomorrow is going to be a delight after this game.

Not very impressed....
After hearing all the hype about the Celtics and watching them in person last night, I don't get it. Yeah, they have 2 SUPERSTARS (Garnett and Pierce), and one really good old guy who can shoot (Ray Ray), but for them to only be up by 9 at the half and to only have scored 45 points themselves, I was shaking my head. Their defense is pretty stout, but leaving the arena after the game, I couldn't help but think that the non-generic Clippers, fully healthy could have beaten this team. Brand v. Garnett, Kaman v. Perkins, Maggette v. Pierce (or would it be Timmy?)....then Sam or Livie taking down Rondo...man...now THAT would have been a good game.
And show a little class Boston. Garnett is ridiculously intense, but the rest of their 'B' players just appeared to want to trash talk at every opportunity (especially Posey and House). Give me a freakin' break! You are playing the Clippers JV team....classy, real classy...
This is why I hate ALL Boston teams...thank goodness the Patriots lost.
BINGOOOOO!!!

I stopped watching...
when the clippers trailed by 16 during the 3rd quarter.  I guess it was a terrible second half.

Stopped watching
A couple of minutes into the 4th.  Celtics didn't look especially formidable.  Aaron Williams is looking pretty bad.  No Brand, Kaman, Cassell, Livingston, Davis--that's a team I'd like to see, with Thornton-Maggette-Mobley-Thomas thrown in for good measure.

C's not classy
I've read similar comments in many blogs and from many fans

if Boston will not win a ring this year (and this is a big if, given how they are playing) I'll throw a party

if Sixers will kick them out in the 1st round, I think I will cross the Ocean and throw a party somewhere in Boston, directly

(you think I should quit drugs, uh? yeah, probably)

I think I hate them more than the 2004 Lakers, and I wish them the same end. That butt kicking by Pistons was the masterpiece of my (long) career as a hater

Go Pistons
