Wade is Shutting it Down

If indeed it is the Clippers' goal to lose as many games as possible in order to secure as many pong pong balls as possible, the opponents are not all cooperating.  In their last win against the Kings, Sacramento's leading scorers Kevin Martin and Ron Artest both sat out.  Today Miami, already sporting the worst record in the NBA, announced that Dwyane Wade is done for the season, just hours before the Heat's meeting with the Clippers.

I guess Shawn Marion is finally going to find out what it feels like to be the man.  It's going to feel pretty rotten, is my guess.

Heat -4 -> Clippers -2?
For those who are interested in how these kinds of things affect those kinds of things.

Wade does appear injury plagued
he hasn't been himself this year at all.  Sad to watch.

I think that an intense NBA Finals run followed by Team USA basketball wore him down.  He did put up a great PER number last year, but he wore down and missed a lot of games due to injury.  He needs more rest.

of course the clippers
are taking the counter intuitive approach; trying to bring their starters back while other teams are shutting theirs down. i don't blame eb he seems like a genuinely good guy. from today's la times eb says "I'm not one to just up and leave a situation," he said. "I'm not a quitter. I owe it to the fans. I owe it to Coach [Mike Dunleavy]. He's out there coaching every single play." (we know elton, we know)
