Tidbits from Media Day

There wasn't much new from Clippers Media Day.  The biggest news was the fact that an extension for Dunleavy could be hear, reported by Jason Reid in the LA Times and Joe Stevens in the Daily News.

Back in May, after game 7 with the Suns, the number that was being thrown around for Dunleavy was $6M per, which would have tied him with Don Nelson for second highest paid coach in the league after Phil Jackson.  (Of course Larry Brown is looking for a $40M plus payday, but that's a different story.)

Apparently Dunleavy and the team are zeroing in on a more reasonable number of $4.5M, which would still put him in the top 10.

In other news, according to Art Thompson III in the OC Register, Boniface N'Dong preferred guaranteed money in Europe to the Clippers 2 year offer which was contingent on making the team. And there were some kind words from Elgin Baylor about MBFGC Sofoklis Schortsianitis, prompting Stevens to predict that he would be a Clipper next season!  OPA!

Baylor also said he has been impressed by Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who helped Greece defeat the United States in the World Championships. The 21-year-old Schortsanitis, a second-round pick by the Clippers in 2003, will remain in Greece this year, but most likely will join the Clippers next season.
