It's been a very good week for my favorite team in Europe, Olympiacos. First, they went to 3-0 in the HMBC (the Greek League) with an 85-70 road win over Apollon on Saturday. Former Buckeye Scoonie Penn led the way for the Reds with 24 points, while former Wave Alex Acker had 13 and future Clipper MBFGC had 9.
Then EuroLeague competition got under way last night. Now, for those of you unfamilar with the European basketball leagues, teams compete in their own national leagues, but then the best teams compete against each other in the EuroLeague. Olympiacos opened against a power from the ACB (the Spanish League), TAU Ceramica. The Reds dominated TAU, 97-78, behind Acker's 25 points and 13 rebounds. MBFGC again added 9.
