We shouldn't get too depressed about pre-season losses, nor should we get too excited about wins. Still, I'd rather beat the Suns, pre-season or not. The Clippers 110-103 win Saturday looks pretty sweet on paper. A 16 point halftime lead, a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter. The Clippers out-shot, out-rebounded, out-assisted - think Mitsubishi commercial - they out-everythinged the Suns.
Al Thornton - 23 points on 14 shots in 29 minutes. Corey Maggette - 19 points on 13 shots, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, a blocked shot and (my personal favorite) only 2 turnovers. These two guys are making me feel a lot better lately. Chris Kaman again had trouble not fouling (4 in 16 minutes) but at least he didn't turn the ball over, and he also grabbed 8 rebounds. And Dan Dickau had 8 assists and 13 points, including a 4 point play to end the first quarter.
It's the weekend, and I don't have a lot of time to post. The Clipper a Day series will have to start catching up tomorrow or the next day. But I wanted to say something about this game. Sure, it's pre-season. But I'd still rather win.
