Elton Brand will go under the knife today to have his ruptured Achilles tendon repaired. In fact, it's entirely possible that the surgery has already occurred as I write this.
Elton opted to have the surgery performed by Dr. Craig Morgan at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Morgan repaired Brand's knee cartilage a few years back, so there is a level of comfort there apparently.
The team has promised to release a statement after the surgery and after Dr. Morgan has consulted with team physician, Dr. Tony Daly.
