Jared Jordan is a Knick

Hat tip to cabezadeknuckle who first alerted me to this via his diary.  The Clippers have traded ClipsNation favorite Jared Jordan to the Knicks.  Here's the Clippers press release:

The Los Angeles Clippers today traded the draft rights to point guard Jared Jordan to the New York Knicks in exchange for cash considerations.

Jordan was the Clippers second round selection (45th overall) in the 2007 NBA Draft.

That's the whole thing.  38 words.  Cash considerations.  Like cash wins basketball games.

Needless to say, I'm not pleased with this development.  Because I began touting Jared as a good pick for the Clippers right around the time of the Orlando pre-draft camp, I undoubtedly have too strong an attachment to him.  I mean, big deal, so what?  So I said his name before many others knew who he was?  Who cares?  Still, one becomes attached.  If he turns into the player who I think he could be, I'll be really sad that I'm not getting to see him every game.

The ESPN story has a little more on the situation, for what it's worth.  By the way, even after the Knicks waive Dickau, they'll still have 15 players on the roster not counting Jared, so he's not assured of making the team.  However, they didn't pay cash the day before camp opens just to cut the guy, one presumes.  So you have to like his chances.  I'm glad he'll be in the league.  And he's closer to home.  And Isiah clearly likes him.  It's probably all positive for him.

And we'll be watching Guillermo Diaz struggle to run the team for long stretches at a time the first time Sam Cassell or Brevin Knight pulls a hamstring.  What's the over-under on that?  10 games?
