When DeAndre Jordan recorded his twentieth rebound last night, Dan Arritt of NBA.com turned to me and asked how unusual10/20/5 games (10 points, 20 rebounds, 5 blocked shots) were. I said, "Oh, I bet it happens. I bet Dwight Howard gets a lot of them."
Well, I was kind of right and kind of wrong.
There have been two 10/20/5 games this season - one by Andrew Bogut (24/22/5 against Houston on December 10th) and last night's 14/20/6 by DJ. Last season there were four - two by Howard, one by Bogut and one by Joakim Noah. The season before that there were only two, both by Howard.
Among active players, Shaquille O'Neal is the leader with 11, Marcus Camby has 10, Howard has 6 and Tim Duncan has 5. For what it's worth, Benoit Benjamin and Chris Kaman have each accomplished the feat once as Clippers.
So yeah, it's kind of a big deal.
