According to Lisa Dillman who is with the team in Nawlins, Baron Davis is a scratch for tonight's game. His knee has been bothering him, and he looked very limited last night in Oklahoma. Eric Bledsoe will get the start and Rasual Butler will likely get his first significant minutes in a long time (against his former team, so maybe Rasual will have some extra motivation). If Sool is ineffective, hopefully Willie Warren will get a chance as well. VDN has also been known to play Al-Farouq Aminu at the two in some situations.
This is the third and final meeting between the Clippers and the Hornets this season, and Baron played a grand total of 10 minutes against his former team this season. Bledsoe responded well to the increased responsibilities of running the team the first time it happened - hopefully he'll react similarly this time. At least he's familiar with defending Chris Paul, having done so twice already, and having led the team to the upset win in Staples way back in November.
Isn't it just like the Clippers though? Chris Kaman is back, and Craig Smith is also active tonight, meaning that the front court has everyone in uniform for the first time in pretty much forever. So what happens? The entire starting backcourt goes down, or course.
Not much word on Baron's prognosis as of yet. Just an ominous "Maybe longer" from Lisa's tweet hinting that this could be an extended absence.
