Goodbye Baron, Hello Mo - Analyzing Williams for Davis - Prologue

Let's start with a little disclosure. I started a new job about a month ago. Not exactly a job, really. I've been working to get my teaching credential for the last 18 months, and I started student teaching in February. I honestly don't remember if I've mentioned this here before. The teaching credential is in addition to the Journalism degree. So yeah, I was going to school basically full time for two different degrees last year. But that didn't really compare to getting up every morning and teaching two different high school classes.

Add in the just completed All Star Weekend, and suffice it to say that I'm exhausted. Tuesday night, when I was writing a recap for the Thunder game followed by a preview of the Hornets game, I think I literally fell asleep at the keyboard a couple of times. You know that scary feeling when you're driving late at night, and you're doing fine, but you suddenly realize that you may have actually been asleep, even though the car was still going straight? I found myself finishing sentences, which were actually coherent, but I had no idea how the sentence had started. I knew the last three words I needed to write, but I had no recollection of the dozen words that had gotten me there.

The funny thing is, when I first started blogging, and for the first few years really, I would have shared all this information immediately and unabashedly. But now that I'm some big time blogger, and my posts get picked up by Google News, I try to act all big and important like a 'real' reporter, and just tell you about the Clippers stuff. Not that I really want Google News types knowing about my student teaching gig per se, but it's just weird how this whole mess has evolved.

All of that to say that the Baron Davis for Mo Williams trade sort of caught me at a bad time. While I was writing the Hornets recap last night, it was an unconfirmed rumor, and I was really tired and in no position to stay up trying to chase it down. Then, I was in class all day today. So thanks to Citizen Zhiv for getting the news posted on the front page, and my apologies for being a little late to the party.

This is my "Clips Nation Audience" only explanation post (I can actually keep things off of Google News as appropriate, it turns out). I'm working on my take on the trade itself. Stay tuned.
