(Citizen bestclipfan had it first in the fanshots about an hour ago.)
The Clippers announced late this afternoon, that they've agreed in principal on a new deal for GM Neil Olshey. Some of us, myself included are hugely relieved. Olshey seems to have figured out how to build a roster, manage a cap, judge player values, and get the things he needs from upper management (Clipper's owner Donald T. Sterling). No terms of the deal were announced.
After picking up the option of Clipper coach, Vinny Del Negro, the last few days in Clipperland, of course, have been filled with news of Olshey meeting with Paul Allen, owner of the Portland Trailblazers and interviewing for their open GM slot.
Welcome back Neil... even though you never lett..
June 2, 8 a.m. Ramona Shelburne tweets that it was Clipper President Andy Roeser who was instrumental in pushing DTS to keep Neil in the fold. Brad Turner has the story in the Times this morning.
