Good guys wear white

What is the deal with the proliferation of non-white alternate home uniforms in the NBA? Friday night in the NBA home white uniforms were in the minority, which is just wrong.

Yellow versus purple? What is this, soccer?

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

I was sitting in a bar with some friends Friday night, and the NBA was on the TV. The Pacers had just finished destroying the Rockets, the Lakers and Timberwolves were warming up, and they showed some highlights of the Cavaliers and the Bucks. And you know what? There wasn't a white uniform in sight. Yellow versus red, yellow versus green, yellow versus black.

There were nine games in the NBA last night. In four of them, the home team wore yellow (Pacers, Cavs, Nuggets and Lakers). In one of them, the home team wore red (the Heat seem to have abandoned home whites completely). There were as many home teams in yellow as there were in white, and fewer than half of the home teams across the NBA last night were actually wearing white. Sacramento was wearing white on the road in Miami because of the Heat and their red fixation.

THIS IS WRONG!

Call me a traditionalist, but the home team is supposed to wear white. And all this yellow-red, yellow-green, yellow-purple is giving me a headache.
