Jason Kidd chosen as the Nets coach

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Nets are finalizing a three-year contract for Jason Kidd to become the Nets' head coach. Via Twitter, David Aldridge is confirming Jason Kidd has been chosen to lead the team.

Per Adrian's report:

Jason Kidd is finalizing a contract agreement to become the coach of the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

A formal announcement is expected soon and a news conference to introduce Kidd in Brooklynwill likely happen before the end of the week. Kidd's contract is expected to be guaranteed for three seasons with a possible fourth-year team option, league sources said.

Sad part of the report?

King met with another finalist, Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw, for 4½ hours on Wednesday in New York. Once that meeting had ended, the Nets moved to finalize the agreement with Kidd.
