Mark Deeks is the guy who runs shamsports.com. He's probably the most committed salary studier in all the blogosphere. His payroll lists are always accurate and he's super-reliable. Today he published an interesting bit of data, a list of all the NBA teams and their committed salaries going into the future.
So, who's number one on the list?
The LA Clippers that's who. They have committed 307 Million to a variety of players over the next five years. Number two? The Brooklyn Nets. Three? OKC. Last? The Dallas Mavericks.
Conversely, the Clips are only seventh in total salary this year (though at least at this point, they're taxpayers by a million or so).
Things have clearly changed around Clipperland. Donald Sterling is in the river and he's up to his neck in it. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.
