According to a tweet by ESPN's Marc Stein, the Clippers have waived reserve PG Maalik Wayns.

So, this means that the Clippers free themselves of Wayns' contract, and gives them a roster spot to sign another player for the league minimum... Andrew Bynum, perhaps? With the deadline for contracts becoming guaranteed on the 10th inching closer, stay tuned to see if any big men become available for the Clippers to look at.
Wayns, a 22 year old second-year player out of Villanova, played in 6 games for the Clippers last season. He did not appear in any games this year as he was recovering from a meniscus injury. He was recently activated before being released today.
It could still very well be that Maalik has a spot in the NBA, but it just isn't practical for the Clippers to keep him given their need for a roster spot and position with the hard cap.
