No surprise, but various reports are coming in that the Clippers have waived Stephen Jackson. That would seem to setup the Clips to potentially acquire Andrew Bynum or some other big. But not so fast because Doc Rivers apparently told the press the team "needs guards" and is on the verge of re-acquiring Maalik Wayns on a ten-day deal. (Brad Turner tweeted that the Clips have soured on Bynum because of his "issues from Cleveland"... whatever that means.) And I thought Wayns, according to Doc, wasn't "ready to play".
I'm completely confused. Every time Ryan Hollins or Byron Mullens comes into a game I want to burn my eyes out with hot coals. But Doc is busy interviewing guys like Sasha Vujacic and Hedo Turkoglu... and now he wants to collect ten day deals on little bitty point guards? He saw something in Darius Morris that he just hated?
I don't know about anyone else but I have not been inspired by any of Doc's end of bench moves either in the off-season or during the season.
