The Clippers didn't have a good week for their power-ranking cause, getting spanked by the Warriors, picking up a close win over the Trail Blazers and edging out the Jazz. Their offense is barely -- barely -- outweighing their bottom-seven defensive efficiency and they're last in the league in second-chance points. Not a fantastic start to the season, but plenty of time to work things out and figure out how they'll make up for their lack of perimeter defense.

ESPN Marc Stein 8 Team-wide shooting woes have sapped some of the Clippers' early spirit, but you figure that'll pick up. Not so clear is what Doc Rivers does about Matt Barnes' struggles and the corresponding lack of driving lanes when the Clips are playing 4-on-5 offensively. Overall team depth is an issue, too.
CBS Sports Matt Moore 18 The Clippers are like Apple, if you will. You expect hot new products and instead they just made a phone too big and the new OS screws with everything.
Yahoo! Marc Spears 5 While forward Blake Griffin’s jumper has improved, he has yet to reach double figures in rebounds and had one board Wednesday against the Warriors. David Aldridge 10 Team hires Gillian Zucker from Auto Club Speedway to permanently replace Andy Roeser as president of business operations, making her one of the top women executives in the NBA. John Schuhmann 5 The Clips got their butts handed to them by the Warriors on Wednesday, but fought through some early struggles to pick up an important win over Portland on Saturday. The defense hasn't been as bad as it was at the start of last season, but it's not nearly at a title-contender level. They've been bailed out at times by Jamal Crawford's shot-making.
Sports Illustrated Matt Dollinger 10 The best dunker in the world has fallen in love with his jumper. Blake Griffin is attempting almost twice as many shots from outside 16 feet as he is at the rim. That's a problem considering Griffin is shooting 37.5 percent on all jumpers (and hit just 34.9 percent last season).
Pro Basketball Talk Kurt Helin 8 The least impressive 4-2 team in the league, their defensive rotations and their energy level have just not been impressive in any game. Plus, Lob City has taken fewer shot attempts in the restricted area than any other team in the NBA so far this season.
USA Today Conglomerate 8 They're down in most stats but not won-lost record. That's the Chris Paul effect.
